HOW TO FIND OUR GUESTHOUSES

The most comfortable, but not the cheapest means of transport to the guesthouses in the Nuratau Mountains is a taxi. Negotiate the price with the driver before you leave and make sure he knows where you want to go. You can save costs by sharing the taxi on parts of the route with other passengers. If you ask in advance, we can also arrange transport from your destination to our guesthouses.


FROM TASHKENT TO THE NURATAU MOUNTAIN VILLAGES AND BACK

From Tashkent Sobir Rahimov metro and bus station to Yangiqishloq:

There is a direct public bus connection from Tashkent to Yangiqishloq. The bus leaves Sobir Rahimov Metro and Bus Station in Tashkent at 14:00. It is good to be there an hour earlier as the bus might leave as soon as it is full. The fee is around 7.000 UZS/person. The bus arrives at the bazaar in Yangiqishloq at 18:30.

A minibus (marshrutka) from Tashkent to Jizzakh costs about 6.500 to 8.000 UZS/person. From the Olmazor bus station in Jizzakh, at the main Samarkand-Tashkent highway, take marshrutka Nr.1 (town minibus) to the Gorod bus station in Jizzakh (price 300-500 UZS/person) from where buses leave for Forish. At the Gorod bus station take a bus, minibus or taxi to Yangiqishloq (often called by its old name Forish) 3.000 to 5.000 UBS/person.

A shared taxi from Tashkent to Jizzakh costs about 10.000 to 15.000 UZS/person (4 people sharing). Ask to be dropped at the Gorod bus station to catch a connecting taxi or minibus to Yangiqishloq. You can also negotiate with the driver to drop you directly at the village of your destination. This only works if the driver is familiar with the area.

In Yangiqishloq (Forish) village, please pop in at the Tabiati Forish office to settle your bill and to register. We can assist you to negotiate a fair price for the taxi to the respective village. The office is located in Bogdon Street 1, the first street to the left after the bazaar. The office is situated straight up the hill.
At Yangiqishloq bazaar take a taxi to the village of the guesthouse you have chosen (Eski Forish, Asraf, Uhum, Upper Uhum, Hayat or Sentyab). The price varies between 20.000 and 30.000 UZS per taxi according to the distance (30km-60km one way) and the time of the day. It is comparatively expensive, as the driver will most probably not find a passenger for the way back. Until midday you might be able to catch a minibus which is considerably cheaper.

From Yangiqishloq to Tashkent:

There is one direct bus every day which leaves from the bazaar in Yangiqishloq at 5:40 and arrives in Tashkent at Sobir Rahimov bus and metro station at 11:00.

If you are not an early riser minibuses and shared taxis leave from Yangiqishloq to Jizzakh (Gorod bus station) regularly. From there you have to take marshrutka Nr. 1 to the Olmazor bus station in Jizzakh where you can catch one of the buses or minibuses to Tashkent.


FROM SAMARKAND TO THE NURATAU MOUNTAIN VILLAGES

From Samarkand Ulubek bus station take the bus, a minibus (marshrutka) or a taxi (shared taxi is cheaper) to Jizzakh Olmanzor bus station. The costs vary between 3.500 and 5.000 UZS/person.

From the Olmazor bus station in Jizzakh take marshrutka Nr.1 (town minibus) to the Gorod bus station in Jizzakh (price 300-500 UZS/person). From here buses, minibuses and taxis leave for Yangiqishloq (often called by its old name Forish) for 3.000 to 5.000 UBS/person. FROM BUKHARA TO THE NURATAU MOUNTAIN VILLAGES AND BACK

From Bukhara the shortest way to the Nuratau Mountain guesthouses is via Navoi and Nurata town (180 km). You can either take a taxi or use public transport. In Nurata drive towards Forish/Jizzakh. 28 km after Nurata, turn right towards Kyzylcha/Forish/Jizzakh. After 75 km you will reach the turn off to Sentyab village. Sentyab is located about 283 km from Buhkara. By taxi the drive will take you about three to four hours.

On week days (i.e. not on weekends) there is a direct bus from Nurata to Sentyab. It leaves Nurata between 11:00 and 12:00 at the bus stop near the bazaar and gets to Sentyab at about 14:00.

On week days (i.e. not on weekends) there is a bus for early risers from Sentyab to Nurata. It leaves Sentyab village at 4:30. From Nurata you can get public transport to Navoi and from there further to Bukhara.


FROM JIZZAKH TO SENTYAB VILLAGE AND BACK

At the Gorod bus station in Jizzakh, there is a direct bus to Sentyab village once a day at 11:30. It passes Yangiqishloq at 13:00 and arrives in Sentyab at 15:00. The price is about 4.000 to 5.000 UZS/person. This bus can also drop you along the main road from where you would have to hike the rest of the way into the respective valley. The distances from the main road to the guesthouses are listed on the table under the overview map.

The bus from Sentyab to Jizzakh leaves at 4:30 and arrives in Yangiqishloq at 6:00 and continues to Jizzakh, where it arrives at 7:15. It costs about 5.000 UZS/person from Sentyab to Jizzakh.


FROM YANGIQISHLOQ TO UHUM AND BACK

Every day at 11:00 (or 12:00) there is a local bus from Yangiqishloq to Uhum. It leaves from the bus stop west of the bazaar. The fare amounts to 1.500UZS/person.

From Uhum to Yangiqishloq there is also a daily bus at 6:00 (or 7:00). It arrives in Yangiqishloq at about 8:00. The fare amounts to 1.500UZS/person
