Day 1 – Arrival in Tashkent: Arrive at Tashkent International Airport in the afternoon, where our driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel.
Day 2—Tashkent City Tour: Visit Independence Square, the History Museum, the Khast Imam Complex, Chorsu Bazaar, Kukaldosh Madrasa, and Juma Mosque. Then, take a ride on the iconic Tashkent Metro.
Day 3 – Chimgan Mountains – Marble River & Waterfall Trek: Drive to the Marble River for a scenic hike in the morning. Follow the river through waterfalls and juniper forests to the “Sunny Glade.” Ascend to Urta Kumbel Pass (1,800 m), then descend to a scenic meadow for a break. Visit a grand waterfall on the return before heading back to your accommodation.
Day 4—Gulkam Pass & Little Chimgan: Hike to Little Chimgan (2,190 m) via Gulkam Pass, enjoying stunning mountain views. Have lunch in a mountain village before returning to Tashkent. In the evening, take the Afrosiab high-speed train to Samarkand, arriving around 10 p.m.
Day 5 – Full-day Samarkand city tour: Visit the Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum, followed by Registan Square with its iconic madrasas: Ulugbek, Sher-Dor, and Tilla-Kari. Explore Bibikhanum Mosque, Shah-i-Zinda Necropolis and experience the vibrant Siyob Bazaar. If time permits, conclude the day at Ulugbek’s Observatory.
Day 6 – Samarkand – Narvon village: Depart for Narvon village. Arrive by lunchtime and settle into your homestay. Spend the afternoon exploring the village at your own pace, observing local life and daily activities. Visit a local carpet shop to see traditional weaving techniques, try weaving yourself, or purchase a handcrafted carpet as a souvenir.
Day 7 – Narvon village – Sayyod Yurt Camp: Hike (13.5 km/4 hours) to Sayyod Yurt Camp, visiting on the way the Narvon Ota Pilgrimage Site. Enjoy the panoramic views of the Kyzylkum Steppe and Lake Aydarkul during the hike. Arrive at the yurt camp, settle in, and relax after dinner with an evening by the fireplace.
Day 8 – Sayyod Yurt Camp – Hayat – Uhum village: Depart for Hayat Village, a 1.5-hour drive through the countryside. Upon arrival, meet your guide and begin a hiking tour to the neighboring village of Uhum. Visit the ancient irrigation channels, petroglyph sites, and meet local people going about their daily activities.
Day 9 – Uhum – Asraf – Desert Yurt Camp: Hike (11 km/4 hours) from Uhum to Asraf village, with luggage transported by car. Visit a community watermill and Mongol-era fortress ruins along the way. Enjoy lunch at a homestay in Asraf, then drive 2 hours to the desert yurt camp. Settle in, enjoy a camel ride or walk through the dunes, and end the day by the campfire with traditional music.
Day 10 – Desert Yurt Camp-Bukhara: Embark on a 3.5-hour drive to Bukhara, arriving by lunchtime. After a short break, begin a half-day guided tour of the historic city. Highlights include the bustling Trading Domes, the serene Lyabi Hauz Ensemble, the ancient Maghoki-Attori Mosque, the iconic 12th-century Kalon Minaret, Abdul Aziz Khan and Ulugbek Madrassah.
Day 11 – Bukhara-Tashkent: Continue the city tour of Bukhara and visit the fortified Ark Citadel, Bolo Haus Mosque, Ismail Samani Mausoleum, Chashmai Ayub Mausoleum, and the time permits visit the Emir’s summer palace – Sitorai Mohi Hosa.
In the afternoon take a train to Tashkent.
Day 12 – Tashkent: Check out from the hotel by noon and transfer to Tashkent International Airport.

To find your driver at the airport:
Exit the airport after customs (there is only one exit). Turn left and walk about 30 meters until you see an iron fence on your right. Your driver will be waiting behind the fence, holding a sign with our company name – NURATAU TRAVEL. - Accommodations: 7 nights in handpicked hotels with twin/double room sharing, 1 night in a mountain yurt camp (2–4 people per yurt), 1 night in a desert yurt camp (2–4 people per yurt), and 2 nights in an authentic mountain homestay.

Hotel Details: The tour includes stays in locally owned boutique hotels, offering charm and authenticity. The hotels in Bukhara and Samarkand are ideally located in the historical areas of the cities, within walking distance of major landmarks. Check-in is available from 14:00, and check-out is until 12:00.
Homestay: You will stay in a homestay in Narvon and Uhum village. The homestays typically have 3-4 traditionally decorated rooms furnished with beds. Towels and bedding are provided. Most homestays have communal toilets and showers conveniently located in the yard. In warmer months, meals are served in the garden on tapchans—traditional wooden sitting platforms—while in cooler periods, dining takes place in the kitchen. The homestay has cellphone coverage from Uz Mobile. There is free Wi-Fi available at the homestay.
Sayyod Yurt Camp: The camp features 12 yurts with a communal ablution block located separately. Bedding and towels are provided for your comfort. Enjoy complimentary amenities such as free Wi-Fi, an outdoor swimming pool, a fireplace, and various seating areas in the garden. Guests can also use a small telescope for stargazing, play table tennis, or practice archery at no additional cost. Optional activities like cooking classes, horse riding, and mountain bike rentals are available for an extra fee.
Desert Yurt Camp:
The yurt camp comprises 20 traditional yurts, each furnished with bedding and towels. A communal ablution block, featuring toilets and showers, are conveniently located within the camp. Electricity is available throughout the premises. Please note that mobile network coverage is limited; however, certain areas may receive a weak Uz Mobile signal.

Pre/Post Accommodation:
Guests may book pre- or post-tour stays at the Leader Hotel, starting at $55 per night. Early check-in and late check-out options are available at an additional 50% cost.
Transport Details:
- Road Travel: Air-conditioned sedan car for groups of 2–3 or air-conditioned minibus for groups of 4 or more.
- Train Travel: High-speed or express train ticket for the Tashkent-Samarkand and Bukhara-Tashkent route (subject to availability).
- Guide Information: You will have a different professional, English-speaking city guide in each city during the tour, each with in-depth knowledge of the history, culture, and architecture of their specific location. In Chimgan and Nuratau Mountains, we will provide a mountain guide who will share his knowledge of the region’s natural beauty and traditions. Their expertise and personal connection to the area will enrich your experience. For groups of 6 or more people, we will provide with county guide who will accompany you from the start to the end of the tour.
- Participants: The tour operates with a minimum of 2 participants and a maximum of 12 participants.
- Fitness Level: Participants should be prepared for walking and hiking tours ranging from 3–13.5 km per day. The terrain includes city streets, cobblestone paths, uneven trails, and moderate inclines in varying weather conditions. Basic physical fitness and the ability to manage daily walking are required.
- Age Restrictions: Suitable for participants aged 12 and above. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Health Considerations: Participants should have no serious mobility issues or medical conditions that could be aggravated by walking, hiking, or heat exposure. If in doubt, consult a healthcare professional before booking.
- Additional Note: This itinerary involves significant outdoor activities, including hikes in mountainous and desert regions. Appropriate footwear, clothing, and gear are essential for comfort and safety.
- Luggage Handling: During the Chimgan trek, your main luggage will be securely stored at your hotel, as the trek ends there. This allows you to carry only a daypack with essentials, ensuring a light and comfortable hiking experience. In the Nuratau Mountains, luggage will be transported by car during the village-to-village hikes.
- Size and Weight Limits: While there are no strict weight limits for the Nuratau Mountains, please pack efficiently for ease of transport. For the Chimgan trek, as luggage remains at the hotel, you’re free to pack as needed but should bring only essential items in your daypack for daily hikes.

Day 2: Tashkent City Tour
Today, spend the whole day exploring sights on a Tashkent city tour. Tashkent is the capital of Uzbekistan, which has existed for more than 2,000 years. The city was completely rebuilt after being flattened by the devastating earthquake of 1966. Our first stop will include visits to Independence Square, Amir Timur Square, and the History Museum of the People of Uzbekistan. Continuing on, visit the Khast Imam Complex, which contains the oldest known copy of the Koran dating from 655 AD.
From Khast Imam visit the nearby Chorsu Bazaar – the largest and oldest market in Central Asia. Wandering through this huge bustling market is a great way to see local people going about their daily lives. You will also meet many friendly local vendors who will engage with you as you pass by. The 16th-century Kukaldosh madrasa – Tashkent’s most renowned Islamic learning centre and 15th-century Juma Mosque are also both located at a short walking distance from Chorsu Bazaar. Next, take a ride on the Tashkent Metro, famous for its beautifully designed stations. If time permits, visit the Fine Arts Museum of Uzbekistan and the Museum of Applied Arts.

Day 3: Chimgan Mountains – Marble River & Waterfall
After breakfast, drive to the Marble River trekking point to begin your adventure. The journey offers stunning views of rolling hills and picturesque landscapes, setting the tone for the day ahead. Upon arrival, get ready for the hike along the Marble River. Follow the serene trail alongside the Marble River, where cascading waterfalls and peaceful juniper forests create a breathtaking backdrop. A short ascent brings you to the “Sunny Glade,” a magical spot where sunlight filters through the trees, creating a tranquil and picturesque scene. Continue along the river’s upper reaches, climbing to the Urta Kumbel Pass at 1,800 meters. Take in the panoramic views before starting the descent back toward the river. Arrive at a lush meadow by the river, an ideal spot to pause and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. On the way back, take a detour to visit a grand waterfall, one of the trek’s highlights. The trail concludes at the starting point, where the vehicle awaits to take you back to your accommodation. Return to your accommodation and unwind after an eventful day.

Day 4: Gulkam Pass & Little Chimgan Mountains
After breakfast, drive to the Gulkam Pass trekking area, where the day’s adventure begins. The trail leads to Little Chimgan, rising to an altitude of 2,190 meters. Along the way, take in the fresh mountain air and, if the weather is clear, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding ranges. After the hike, head to the nearby mountain village of Khodzhikent. A hearty lunch awaits at a local café or restaurant, where you can savor regional dishes. In the afternoon, return to Tashkent to transfer to the railway station for your journey to Samarkand. Take the high-speed train and arrive in Samarkand around 10 p.m. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and rest, ready to explore the wonders of Samarkand the following day.

Day 5: Samarkand
Begin your day in Samarkand, a city with over 2,500 years of history and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once a pivotal stop along the Silk Road, Samarkand is celebrated for its stunning architecture, heavily influenced by Tamerlane’s vision and his affinity for the color blue, evident in the city’s domes and mosaics. Start with a visit to the Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum, the final resting place of the conqueror Timur (Tamerlane). Proceed to Registan Square, the heart of ancient Samarkand, surrounded by three majestic madrasas: Ulugbek Madrasa, built in the 15th century by the astronomer and ruler Ulugbek as a leading center of Islamic education; Sher-Dor Madrasa, notable for its facade featuring tiger mosaics symbolizing power and courage; and Tilla-Kari Madrasa, known for its stunning gold-covered interior, which served both as a madrasa and a mosque.
Next, visit Bibikhanum Mosque and Shah-i-Zinda necropolis, a breathtaking complex of mausoleums adorned with intricate tilework and considered one of the most sacred sites in Samarkand. Enjoy lunch near Siyob Bazaar, a lively market where you can sample local delicacies and experience the bustling atmosphere of daily life. Conclude your day at Ulugbek’s Observatory, one of the earliest astronomical observatories in the Islamic world, showcasing the scientific advancements of the 15th century. The evening is free for you to explore Samarkand at your leisure. You might consider visiting a local chaikhana (teahouse) to enjoy traditional Uzbek cuisine or taking a stroll through the illuminated streets to soak in the city’s ambiance.

Day 6 – Samarkand – Narvon village
Begin your journey with a scenic drive to the village of Narvon, nestled near the Nuratau Mountains. This charming village is known for its picturesque landscapes and traditional rural lifestyle, offering an authentic glimpse into Uzbek village life. The road to Narvon is bumpy in parts, adding a touch of adventure to the journey, but it’s rewarded with stunning views of rolling hills, traditional farmlands, and the peaceful simplicity of rural life.
Upon arrival at the homestay in Narvon, your host will warmly welcome you and show you around the facilities.
You will be sleeping in a simple traditional room on the floor on thick kurpacha mattresses (2 persons in one room, usually divided by gender). The homestay has an ablution block consisting of a flush toilet and a shower separate to the house. Like all other houses in the village, the homestay also has a large shady garden. After lunch, step out to explore the village and its surroundings on your own. As you wander, you’ll encounter friendly villagers going about their daily routines—farmers working in the fields, women preparing meals outdoors, and children playing games in the shade of mulberry trees. Later in the afternoon, see the process of carpet making. For those feeling adventurous, try your hand at weaving under the guidance of a master weaver. As it gets closer to evening, you can watch or join your homestay family in making the traditional dish ‘Plov’ using fresh vegetables and mountain spices.

Day 7: Narvon village – Sayyod Yurt Camp
After breakfast, get ready for the guided hike to the Sayyod Yurt Camp located on the other side of Nuratau Mountains. Along the way, your guide will share interesting insights about the area’s natural surroundings and local traditions. One of the highlights of your hike is a visit to the Narvon Ota Pilgrimage Site, a sacred location perched on a mountaintop. Reaching the site involves climbing a long staircase, but the effort is well worth it. Your guide will provide a brief introduction to its spiritual and historical significance, adding depth to the experience. From the top of the mountains, take in stunning panoramic views of the expansive Kyzylkum Steppe, the Lake Aydarkul, and the scattered villages below.
Reach Sayyod Yurt Camp in the afternoon, settle into one of the 11 traditionally adorned yurts, each equipped to accommodate 2 to 4 guests. The camp combines authentic charm with modern comforts, featuring an on-site restaurant, a well-maintained ablution block with showers and toilets, and even an outdoor pool for relaxation. As the sun sets, gather for a delicious dinner featuring regional specialties, prepared fresh at the camp. After the meal, spend a relaxing evening by the fireplace.

Day 8: Sayyod Yurt Camp – Hayat – Uhum village
Begin your journey with a 1.5-hour drive through the picturesque countryside to Hayat Village. Along the way, enjoy the peaceful rural scenery, with rolling hills and small villages dotting the landscape. Arrive in Hayat Village and meet your local guide, who will lead you on a hiking tour to the neighboring village of Uhum. Highlights of the Hike: Ancient Irrigation Channels: Stop at the ruins of irrigation channels that have sustained agriculture in the region for centuries. Your guide will explain their construction and the ingenious ways they’ve been maintained over generations. Petroglyph Sites: Visit ancient rock carvings that provide a fascinating glimpse into the lives and culture of the area’s early inhabitants. Local Encounters: Along the way, meet villagers going about their daily routines. Whether its farmers tending their fields, herders guiding their animals, or women preparing traditional meals.
In the afternoon, arrive in Uhum Village and settle into Ulugbek’s homestay. Later, enjoy a delicious dinner with the family.

Day 9: Uhum – Asraf – Desert Yurt Camp
After breakfast, prepare for your hike to your next village Asraf. The luggage will be transported by car. Your hike sets off through Ukhum Valley to Asraf village (11 km-4 hours). When you reach the school, you’ll take a left turn and continue walking down through the valley (approx 1 km) to reach the old community Watermill. The old watermill is still in operation and uses a hydro pump that lifts water up to a local house without using electricity. The owner, Ural Kasimov, will proudly demonstrate to you the use of these old devices. Continue walking down Mushibirion Valley and turn right at the ruins of the old Mongol fortress “Qorgoni Honkeldi”. To get to Asraf village you still have to hike another 3,5 km to the east. Arrive in Asraf Village and enjoy a delicious homemade lunch at a local homestay.
After lunch, set off on a 2-hour drive to the desert yurt camp, watching the landscape transform from mountains to the vast open desert. Upon arriving at the yurt camp, settle into your traditional yurt, which combines comfort with an authentic desert experience. Enjoy a 20-minute camel ride or stroll across the captivating desert dunes, immersing yourself in the serene beauty of the landscape. Depending on the season, you might spot steppe tortoises, swift hares, or the vivid colors of desert agamas blending with the sands. As evening falls, savor a delicious dinner under the open sky, accompanied by the enchanting melodies of local bards around a crackling campfire. When the day winds down, retreat to your cozy yurt for a peaceful night’s sleep, enveloped by the quiet stillness of the desert.

Day 10: Desert Yurt Camp-Bukhara
After breakfast in yurt camp, set off on a 3.5-hour drive to the historic city of Bukhara, traveling through the scenic landscapes of Uzbekistan. Arrive in Bukhara around lunchtime and enjoy a break to relax and savor a meal at a local restaurant. After lunch, begin a half-day guided tour exploring Bukhara’s most iconic landmarks. Start by exploring the Trading Domes, a vibrant network of bazaars where merchants have been trading goods for centuries. Continue to the Lyabi Hauz Ensemble, a serene square built around a historic pond, shaded by ancient mulberry trees. This spot, surrounded by madrassahs and teahouses, captures the essence of Bukhara’s charm. Visit the Maghoki-Attori Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in Central Asia, which boasts a fascinating blend of Islamic and pre-Islamic architectural styles. Your tour will also take you to the iconic Kalon Minaret, a 12th-century masterpiece renowned for its intricate brickwork, and the adjacent Kalon Mosque, whose vast courtyard exudes tranquility. Begin at the fortified Ark Citadel, a historic stronghold that served as the residence of Bukhara’s rulers for centuries. Step back in time as you wander through its ancient walls and learn about its rich history. Nearby, visit the Bolo Hauz Mosque, renowned for its elegant columns and serene reflection in the adjacent pool. Next, explore the Ismail Samani Mausoleum, a stunning example of early Islamic architecture with intricate brickwork that has stood the test of time. Continue to the Chashma Ayub Mausoleum, also known as the “Spring of Job,” a site with a fascinating blend of historical significance and legends.
