Day 1 – Transfer from Tashkent to Beldersay Ski Resort, commence trek to Beldersay valley (6 km/4 hours): 9:00 am pick from parking lot of the Uzbekistan Hotel in Tashkent and transfer to Beldersay Resort (98km / 1,5 – 2 hours). Start trekking near Beldersay Ski Resort towards plains called Sunny Meadow, reaching the meadow descend to Marble River. After an excursion through the valley of Marble River, continue heading up towards Urta Kumbel pass (1850). Descend from Urta Kumbel to camping location Beldersay Valley.
Day 2 – Trek from Beldersay to Nurekata Valley (12 km / 6 hours): Start ascending from Beldersay Valley via Chetkumbel pass (1800m) towards Kubmel pass (2550). On the way see the petroglyph site at 2400m height above sea level (the highest point in three days of trekking). From the petroglyph site descend towards the southwest to Nurekata Valley and reach the camping area (1400m).
Day 3 – Trek from Nurekata to Shuldak village and return to Tashkent (18 km / 8 hours): Continue descending in Nurekata valley to reach the junction of Nurekata and Aksakata rivers. From the junction continue towards the village of Shuldak (1050m). Meet your driver in Shuldak and transfer back to Tashkent (84 km/1,5 -2 hours). Arrive in Tashkent at about 16:30.

- Tour Dates: Group departures are available every Tuesday from April to October.
- Seasonal Considerations: The optimal seasons for this tour are April, May, June and September.
- Meeting Point and Time: In Tashkent, meet at 8:40 AM at the parking lot of the Uzbekistan Hotel. Upon request, small groups (2-3 participants) can be picked up from their hotels. The departure time is 9:00 AM.
- Ending Point: You will be dropped back the parking lot of the Uzbekistan Hotel at around 5:00 PM. Upon request, small groups (2-3 participants) can be dropped off at their hotels.
- Accommodations: 2 nights in two-person tents at designated campsites.
- Meals: All meals during the trek. Vegetarian and vegan options are available upon request.
- Guided Tours: A mountain guide who speaks English will lead the trek.
- Transportation: Transfers include:
- From Tashkent to Beldersay Ski Resort.
- From Shuldak village back to Tashkent.
- Registration: The registration will be issued by our company, please present your passport in the morning to your guide or send us a copy of your passport in advance.
- Luggage transportation: We will provide donkeys for luggage transportation.
- Personal Expenses: Items of a personal nature.
- Travel Insurance: We want you to have a safe and worry-free adventure, so we kindly ask all participants to have travel insurance. It’s a simple way to ensure you’re protected and can fully enjoy your activities with peace of mind.
- Tips: Tipping is not mandatory but is a thoughtful way to show appreciation for the services provided by guides, drivers, and hosts. A general guideline is $5–$10 per person per day, depending on your satisfaction with the service.
- Camping Details: We provide 2-person tents, sleeping bags, mattresses, and all necessary tableware and cooking utensils. Meals will be freshly prepared by our cook. Please note that showers and toilet tents are only installed for groups of 6 persons and above. Guests can use nearby rivers for washing.
- Transport Details: For groups of 2-3 participants, transportation is provided by an air-conditioned sedan car. For groups of 4 or more, a minibus is used.
- Guide Information: A professional mountain guide with experience in the Chimgan area will lead the trek, providing insights into the local environment and ensuring safety.
- Minimum and Maximum Participants: The tour operates with a minimum of 2 participants and a maximum of 12 participants to ensure a personalized experience.
- Fitness Level: This 3-day trekking tour covers approximately 36 kilometers, with daily treks ranging from 4 to 8 hours. Participants should be in good physical condition, comfortable with walking on uneven terrain, and capable of handling elevation changes. A reasonable level of cardiovascular fitness is recommended to maintain a steady pace throughout the trek.
- Age Restrictions: The tour is suitable for individuals aged 16 and above.
- Experience: The participants are required to have prior experience.
- Clothing:
- Spring (March-May) and Autumn (September-November): Layered clothing is essential to adapt to varying temperatures. Pack long-sleeved shirts, a light jacket or sweater for cooler mornings and evenings, and comfortable trousers. We advise you to take a rain/wind proof jacket for early spring and autumn.
- Summer (June-August): Lightweight, breathable clothing such as cotton or linen shirts and trousers. A wide-brimmed hat or cap is crucial for sun protection. Consider bringing a light scarf or shawl for additional coverage.
- Footwear: Sturdy, closed-toe trekking boots with good ankle support and a non-slip sole are recommended to ensure safety and comfort on uneven and potentially slippery terrain.
- Other Essentials: Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a reusable water bottle, walking sticks and a small daypack to carry personal items during the hikes.
- Luggage Transport: During the trek, your main luggage will be transported by donkeys, allowing you to carry only a daypack with essentials. We recommend leaving unnecessary items at your hotel in Tashkent. If you are departing to another destination immediately after the tour, we can securely store your luggage at our premises.

- Size and Weight Limits: To ensure the well-being of the donkeys and efficient transport, each participant’s luggage should not exceed 13 kg. Soft-sided backpacks are preferred for ease of loading and to prevent damage during transit.

Your 3-Day Chimgan Trekking Itinerary
Day 1 – Tashkent – Beldersay Ski Resort – Beldersay Valley
At 9:00 am our driver and guide will pick you up from the parking lot of the Uzbekistan Hotel in Tashkent and transfer you to the start point of the trekking tour at Beldersay Ski Resort (98 km /1,5-2 hours). The trek commences near Beldersay Ski Resort towards the plains called Sunny Meadow. Reach the meadow and observe the stunning mountain landscape that surrounds you – a perfect opportunity to capture photos of the panoramic mountain scenery.
From Sunny Meadow, you will continue along the trail that descends to the Marble River. Before ascending from Marble River valley to Urta Kumbel pass (1850), walk through the valley for stunning views of the waterfall and canyon. After a picnic lunch, continue heading up along a trail that is surrounded by numerous juniper trees, and arrive at Urta Kumbel pass. Observe the stunning views of Chirchik Valley and Chetkumbel pass from Urta Kumbel. After a short rest, descend to Beldersay Valley to set up in today’s camping area (1720m).

Day 2 – Beldersay Valley – Nurekata valley
After breakfast, we pack up camp and continue trekking up from Beldersay valley to the south towards Chetkumbell pass (1800m) which separates Beldersay and Nurekata valleys. At the Chetkumbel pass, take a moment to bask in the awe-inspiring panoramic scenery offered by the massive Chimgan peak (3309m). Carry on along the trail on the ridgeline to the east towards Kumbel Pass (2550m). Before a major ascent on the way to the Kumbel pass, you’ll take a sharp left turn and a short walk on the left-hand takes you to the petroglyphs site (2400m) from the late Stone Age period. This is the highest point of our three-day trekking tour in the mountains of Ugam Chatkal National Park. This spot opens up panoramic views of Chatkal Range and Chirchik Valley. From the petroglyph site, we start descending to the south to scenic Nurekata valley. We will be camping in an open space along the riverbed of Nurekata (1400m).

Day 3 – Nurekata Valley – Shuldak village
Today we continue our descent along the valley of the Nurekata River, abundant with juniper, walnut, and fruit trees until we reach the junction of the Aksakata and Nurekata rivers. On the way, we’ll see herds of sheep and horses in the mountain meadows, and occasionally, you might spot birds of prey flying high above the valley. As we walk down through the valley we’ll see the summer huts of nomadic shepherds where you can try Kymiz (fermented mare’s milk – the traditional drink of mountain people). Most of the shepherd families build their summer huts in the valley and stay there during the hot summer months.
Once we reach the junction of the Nurekata and Aksakata rivers we continue heading down for about 1 hour along the valley of Aksakata River crossing a small pass before reaching the end point of our trek – Shuldak village (1000m). Upon arrival in Shuldak village, we will meet our driver who transfers us to Tashkent.
